Lucky me, I was invited to join the press trip for the Thailand Innovative Meetings Exchange (TIME), an annual industry event with the purpose to promote Thailand as a destination for international corporate meetings and incentive travel.
Demonstrating this experiential focus, TIME 2026 also marks TCEB’s first dedicated media familiarisation trip in seven years. Jointly organised by TCEB’s Corporate Image and Meetings & Incentives teams, the post-event trip took buyers and media to Khao Lak in Phang Nga province to showcase a dual-destination strategy.
We enjoyed a week of inspiring knowledge sharing, business meetings, site inspections and immersive cultural activities, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) left participants with a powerful takeaway: business events are not only about meetings, but also about creating meaningful moments and lasting memories.
Under the theme “Siam Moment – The Rhythm of Style and Serenity,” TIME brought together more than 100 international buyers representing over 80% of attendees, alongside long-haul delegates from North America and Europe-, Thai MICE professionals, public-sector representatives and industry stakeholders. Held from 31 August to 5 September, the event offered TCEB an opportunity to showcase the many rhythms of Thailand — from the vibrant “moments of pulse” found in dynamic Bangkok to the tranquil “moments of calm” of Khao Lak, in the southern coastal province of Phang Nga.
We slept at Andaz One Bangkok, it opened its doors last January and I loved the rooms and all the public areas:

We started our programme with a visit to the conference facilities at The Peninsula Bangkok, hotel, which I love and been many times (and it is never enough!):
With the big ballroom and the stunning Jesters room with a dramatic seven-metre ceiling, modern decor, an elegant adjoining terrace and floor-to ceiling windows looking out to the scenic Chao Phraya River:
And we enjoyed a superb dinner at the unique Paribatra room, on the 37th floor surrounded by panoramic views of Bangkok’s skyline. The food by Chef Hans Zahner was truly memorable:
Business is also done during the free time, and nothing represents Thailand better thaan a Spa. At Bhawa Spa we enjoyed a 90 minute treatment, the facilities are really beautiful and therapists are the best:
And we had lunch at Prai Raya, just across the road. It was so so good:
Then we head to The St Regis Bangkok for the TIME grand opening. TCEB President Supawan Teerarat underscored the vital role of Thailand’s MICE industry, highlighting the event’s theme, “Power of Possibilities.” She stressed that the true value of meetings and incentive programmes goes beyond bringing people together: they are powerful tools for driving business forward, creating meaningful connections and inspiring people.

The governor received warm applause from the audience after revealing that he had far exceeded his pledge to plant one million trees during his first term. According to the governor, the actual number now stands at more than 2.7 million. It was a very interesting opening.

Then we went to The Siam in Bloom Moment Welcome Dinner at Raynue, Gaysorn Amarin.

Fabulous venue and fabulous show:

The next day we visited the MICE facilities Andaz One Bangkok, truly chic and stunning:
We also visited the huge Chang Canvas beer facilities at One Bangkok followed by a beer tasting, which is a funny idea at 10.30am. All was under control:
We headed to our next visit: the facilities of The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok which are absolutely great:
Then we joined the one-to-one meetings at the Business Exchange at Harmony Grand Ballroom, Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok.
We checked in at the Anantara Siam Bangkok. Been there several times but not since they have full renovated, actually the spa was about to be finished soon.
Thai heritage with completed with a USD 50 million enhancement, the hotel is a true Thai heritage jewel.
We did a very interesting garland workshop – much more difficult that it seems:
And enjoyed a superb Thai dinner at the revamped The Spice Market:
The message behind the stories and demonstrations of soft power was that TIME – and business events – it is about creating moments and leaving a lasting impression.
